Shipping Policy Disclaimer

Once orders have been placed, processed and payment is approved, products ship via common carrier freight, UPS Ground, Fed Ex Ground or by USPS unless otherwise specified.

A-1 Pools usually ships in-stock products within 1-3 business days. Custom and special order products typically have longer lead times. Confirm product production lead times with A-1 Pools customer service or sales representatives at the time of order or on our web site.

A-1 Pools is not responsible for lost, misplaced or delayed shipments or freight damaged by the freight carriers. A-1 Pools Customer Service will, however, work diligently to help resolve any freight related issues.

Where does A-1 Pools Ship?
A-1 Pools ships in the United States to the 48 continental states. A-1 Pools can ship to Hawaii and Alaska by request and special shipping costs will be quoted, unless the item(s) purchased are eligible for shipment with USPS in which case our normal rates would still apply (however most chemicals cannot be shipped via USPS due to restrictions and freight will cost significantly more and will require special quotes).

Shipping Notification
UPS, FedEx Ground and USPS deliveries do not require a signature at the time of delivery and will be left at the location if no person is present, unless otherwise requested. When your order is shipped via these methods, you will receive an email with tracking information. Please track your package so you know when it is expected to arrive and when it has been marked as having been delivered.

For LTL Freight Shipping, after the carrier receives your order, they will contact you to schedule a delivery time. Typically, carriers require a minimum four-hour window for delivery. An adult older than age 18 must be present and available to sign for the delivery.

Delivery Timing
If you require products delivered by a certain date, please call Customer Service to verify product availability. Some products available for online order may not be in stock. Any listed shipping times are estimates. Specific delivery dates and/or time frames cannot be guaranteed for any product or order. For orders with deadlines please order well in advance.

What shipping methods are available?
A-1 Pools offers three standard methods to receive your purchased products, including: free in-store pick-up, standard ground shipping and common carrier LTL freight. Contact customer service if you need next day delivery to determine what options can be made available. Some items are classified as HazMat by the US-DOT and are subject to a $40 HazMat surcharge due to special shipping requirements and restrictions.

Free In-Store Pick-Up
All purchases are available to be picked up at any A-1 Pools retail location. This method of delivery is free and products are generally available within 3 business days, often on the same day. Simply choose the location where you wish to pick up your order online at check out. Once your order is ready to be picked up, the staff at your designated retail location will contact you to let you know. No minimum orders are required, there are no processing fees, no HazMat charges and no freight charges for the absolutely free in-store pick-up delivery option.

Standard Ground Shipping
Most items qualify for standard ground shipping. A minimum shipping charge of $12 applies to orders less than $100 in merchandise. For orders of $100 or more, shipping rates are calculated at check out. A-1 Pools ships Standard Ground orders via UPS, FedEx or by USPS as determined by A-1 Pools shipping staff. In-stock products can be expected to arrive to you within 3-7 business days. Custom and special order products typically have longer lead times. Orders with HazMat items will automatically include a $40 HazMat surcharge for each HazMat item to offset carrier HazMat charges.

Same Day Delivery Option
Same Day Delivery means you will receive your items on the same day you order them and is limited to select metro markets, If your zip code is within a Same Day Delivery zone, you will presented with this option at check out.

In some instances, Same Day Delivery may actually be less expensive than standard ground or freight. This sometimes happens due to pre-negotiated rates with our same day carrier in your metro market which may sometimes be better than the national firms. So, if this happens, it is likely not an error, so please take advantage of faster service at a better price.

If the items you ordered are not in stock, you will be notified via email with an estimated delivery date and be given the option to cancel or wait for delivery when the items are in stock; please call to verify availability before placing your order if you need these items on the same day. If we do not hear back from you, your order will be processed when the item(s) are in stock with Same Day Delivery to ensure you get them as fast as possible.

Same Day Delivery orders must be placed by 12:00 PM Central Standard Time (CST). Same Day Delivery orders placed after 12:00PM CST will automatically ship as Next Day Delivery.

Free Delivery with Next Service Visit
If you reside in the state of Wisconsin, you will be given the option to select Free Delivery with Next Service Visit. It is important to note that you should either be ordering your service with the items you would like dropped off; OR already have a service order scheduled prior to selecting this option so that when we receive your order, we can add the items to ship with your service visit. If you choose this option and do not have a service order scheduled, your order will be suspended while we reach out to you either by phone or by email.

Please place orders to be combined with your service visit as soon as possible, but with at least three (3) business days’ notice so we can make arrangements to have what you need when we are scheduled to provide service.

If nobody is home when service is provided, your items will be left in a place deemed most appropriate by the service technician and you will be notified of where they were left. A-1 Pools is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items after they are left on site due to nobody being home. Please provide any specific instructions related to where you would like the items left.

If you are ordering service, you will be given only this shipping option at check out. If no shipping option is made available at check out, then you are outside of our normal service area. Please contact us to determine if we can reach your location.

Freight Shipping - Large Items
Large items including products like pool heaters, pool packages, filter systems cannot be sent by traditional package delivery and must be shipped via a large-item carrier as LTL Freight. A-1 Pools will email the contact person listed on the billing address of each Freight Shipping order after the product ships. This email will contain shipping information, including the shipping or trucking company name, phone number and shipment tracking number.

LTL Freight Delivery - Residential $150
Online orders with freight delivery that are marked as ''Freight Shipping - Residential'' will have a lift gate and delivery appointment added to the order. The trucking company will call to schedule a delivery time window. And we also recommend customers call the trucking company to coordinate delivery and to confirm delivery the day of the appointment.

Lift gate delivery service is included with residential delivery. LTL Freight Delivery - Residential service is required for all customers that do not have a loading dock or a forklift. Lift gate service will transfer the product off of the truck and onto the curb at the delivery site. This DOES NOT include any inside-of-home or garage delivery, or moving the freight pallet away from the curb.

It is important to note that freight deliveries are always curbside, even when a lift gate option is included. ''Curbside'' means next to the curb on the street. Drivers are not obligated to deliver freight into driveways or garages. Inside delivery is not available.

Truck drivers are not responsible for removing product off of the truck by hand. Hand unloading of material off of the truck by customers is no longer allowed by most freight companies and therefore is not an option with A-1 Pools freight deliveries.

LTL Freight Delivery - Commercial $100
Online orders with freight delivery that are marked as ''Freight Shipping - Commercial” are business deliveries with a loading dock and/or forklift with no need for a delivery appointment and are asked to list the receiving party on the shipping address of the order and to contact the trucking company directly to coordinate delivery date and time if needed by the customer. The receiving party is required to meet the truck at the time of delivery to avoid redelivery charges. It’s the responsibility of the receiving party to become informed in order to know when the truck is coming.

For all business deliveries via freight truck, the trucking company will assume your business is open and staffed to receive deliveries Monday through Friday during normal business hours. For business delivery appointments, it is the sole responsibility of the customer to contact the trucking company and arrange a delivery appointment if needed and not already arranged at the time of order.

Business freight deliveries or freight deliveries without a lift gate are dock to dock, which means the receiving business party is required to remove the product from the truck via a loading dock or with a forklift. Truck drivers are not responsible for removing product off of the truck by hand. Hand unloading of material off of the truck by customers is no longer allowed by most freight companies and therefore is not an option with A-1 Pools freight deliveries.

LTL Same Day Freight Delivery - Residential/Commercial $100
Same Day Delivery means you will receive your freight shipment on the same day you order and is limited to select metro markets, If your zip code is within a Same Day Delivery zone, you will presented with this option at check out.

Inspecting for Damage 
Please be sure to check all packages for any potential damage during transit. It is the sole responsibility of the receiving party to fully inspect the product at the time of delivery for any potential damage. A-1 Pools is not responsible for damaged products due to shipping. We recommend removing any protective wrapping to fully inspect the product, before the driver leaves. In addition, please count the product before signing the Delivery Receipt. Once the Delivery Receipt is signed with no exceptions noted, the trucking company has not further responsibilities and will not honor claims if the Delivery Receipt is not noted with the issue.

What to Do If Product is Damaged
If the product is damaged in any way, DO NOT REFUSE THE PRODUCT. It is best to receive the product and replacement product will be shipped out to you. Please read on. Refusing product by the customer does not recuse the customer of re-deliver or return shipping costs.

If damage did occur during transit, any and all damage must be noted on the Delivery Receipt in detail and signed by the driver. A copy of the Delivery Receipt will need to be faxed, emailed or snail mailed to A-1 Pools in order for a damage claim to be filed with the trucking company, on our customer’s behalf, in order for replacement product to be sent to the customer.

When possible, please photograph the damaged product on the truck and off the truck for evidence that will assist with a product damage claim. Damaged product must be held in the customer's possession up to 2 months. The shipping company has the right to inspect and/or claim the product if a damage claim is filed and/or paid by them.

Additional Accessorial Charges
Any and all additional charges not previously paid, or provided at the time of order, such as inside delivery, change of address, residential delivery, limited access, re-delivery and storage fees will be the sole responsibility of the customer unless stated in the customer order as part of the shipping costs pre-paid by the customer at the time of order.

Limited Access Issues
Most freight deliveries will arrive in a full size 42 foot tractor trailer semi-truck, (such as long haul trucks you might see on the freeway system). It is the customer's responsibility to notify A-1 Pools at the time of order, if your delivery location has potential limited access issues, such as a truck being unable to reach your location or turn around in your area. Accessorial services, such as lift gate, are not guaranteed. Any and all re-delivery charges incurred will be billed back to the customer if delivery is attempted and cannot be completed because of unknown limited access issues.

Delivery Refusal
If the customer refuses delivery for reasons other than those agreed to in writing within the order document, the customer will be responsible for all initial shipping and re-delivery and or return shipping charges.
